We have a new A-rated boiler...keeping us warm so we can keep you warm!

May saw Energy Action Devon install a new A- rated boiler to replace our previous less efficient boiler.

The importance of living and working in a building with adequate and efficient heating is very important, not just for the health of the building but also for the health of its inhabitants. We have upgraded to the highly efficient A-rated Ferroli Optimax HE Plus 31 C boiler, for which we would like to thank DGT Plumbing & Heating for installing. The boiler can be found on the Sedbuk Boiler Efficiency Database, where you can search for efficient boilers based on their fuel type. http://www.sedbuk.com/

In a typical home, upgrading from a G-rated boiler to an A- rated boiler can save £225 per year.

The recommended room temperatures are 21°C for main living areas and 18°C elsewhere. Although we do encourage people to turn down their thermostat by one degree to save 10% on their heating bill, if it is too cold it can create health problems. A home temperature of 15°C increases the risk of respiratory illness and at 12°C householders face an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes. At 9°C and below there is a serious risk of hypothermia.

If you have any questions on how you can get a new A-rated boiler please give our energy advice team a call on 0800 512 012.
