Grants & Schemes

There are many local and national grants and schemes available to homeowners, private tenants and private landlords which aim to help people to make their homes more energy efficient through improved insulation and heating.

Local Schemes

     

Cosy Devon is a scheme managed by Energy Action Devon in partnership with Devon County Council and all 10 local authorities and  the energy supplier E.ON.  It aims to encourage and support homeowners and private tenants across Devon to access grants and discounts for energy efficiency, with free advice tailored to your home with something on offer for everyone. 

  • Prices are heavily discounted starting from as little as £99 in some areas.
  • If you are over 60 or are recieving certain income related benefits work may be done free of charge in some areas. 
  • If you are not in receipt of benefits but have an income of less than £18,000 there are also fantastic discounts in some areas.  For more information and to find out how to apply click here

 

Private Landlords for Energy Action

     

Private Landlords For Energy Action, PLEA, is a local authority initiative that is managed by Energy Action Devon, aiming to increase the uptake of energy efficiency measures and installation of effective heating by private sector landlords.  For more information and to find out how to apply click here

Other Local Grants and Schemes

Warm 4 Winter

Warm 4 Winter is a scheme operating in some areas of Teignbridge funded by Teignbridge District Council which can offer discounted prices for loft and cavity wall insulation for all householders and private tenants.

Plymouth Healthy Homes

Plymouth Healthy Homes is a health orientated energy efficiency project funded by Plymouth City Council.  It is a partnership providing grants and energy advice to the people of Plymouth.   The project aims to help owner occupiers who are not in receipt of benefits, whose health suffers in winter because they live in cold, damp homes, by making their homes warmer and drier through improved insulation and heating. 

Heating Schemes

The Magic Boiler scheme offers gas and oil condensing boilers at discounted prices, when purchased from a Plumbing Trades Supplies (PTS) store.  For more information contact the Energy Saving Trust advice centre on the free phone number below.

Warm Front is a Government funded scheme managed by eaga for people on income related benefits and own their own home or rent it from a private landlord. It can offer up to £3,500 (£6000 for properties for oil) towards the cost of installing a central heating system or repair work to existing broken heating system.
