Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre

Energy Action Devon are proud to host the Devon Hub of the South West network of Energy Saving Trust advice centres, a non-profit government funded initiative.
A dedicated team of qualified energy advisors are ready to give free and impartial advice on how to improve the energy efficiency of homes. This can include general behavioural changes, home improvements, help with choosing appliances and the installation of , all of which can help to save householders money and enable them to do their bit for climate change by reducing their carbon dioxide emissions. Advice is also given on local and national grants and schemes to help towards the cost of making homes more energy efficient.
In addition, advisors can offer advice on other ways to save energy and money such as saving water, recycling and reducing household waste, and transport.

As part of the Energy Saving Trust community commitment Energy Action Devon is involved in a new project, Devon Climate Action Network.
Emily Pidcock is the Transport Coordinator for the Energy Saving Trust in Devon and Cornwall. Her role is to promote the sustainable use of transport offering advice on how to save fuel and reduce CO2 emissions through smarter driving techniques, help with choosing a fuel efficient car, and finding ways to use your car less through car-sharing or using public transport. Some of the services available to businesses and organisations include workshops and presentations, advice sessions, informative exhibitions and events using a state of the art driving simulator. Businesses can also benefit from Smarter Driving lessons organised by the Energy Saving Trust. These one-to-one, hour long training sessions have been shown to reduce fuel consumption by up to 15%.
